บ้านม่อนมะกอกตั้งอยู่ริมทางเข้าวัดพระพุทธบาทตากผ้า วัดที่มีประวัติอันยาวนาน ถิ่นซึ่งองค์สัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้าเคยเสด็จมาประทับพัก และทรงประทับรอยพระพุทธบาทไว้ พร้อมรอยตากผ้าจีวร ซึ่งเป็นรอยเดียวที่พบในประเทศไทย Banmonmakok sits by the entrance of Wat Phra Phutta Baat Tak Pha, an ancient temple where the Buddha once rested and left his footprint — along with the mark of his robe drying, the only one of its kind found in Thailand.

Lamphun is a province of prosperous culture and Buddhism. Legend says it was once the capital of the Lanna Kingdom, an ancient city about 1,344 years old, with many old pagodas and temples. It is well known for handicrafts such as Lamphun silk weaving, and for a peaceful, slow-life way of living away from big-city crowds.
จังหวัดลำพูน เดิมชื่อเมืองหริภุญไชย เป็นเมืองโบราณอายุราว 1,343 ปี สร้างขึ้นโดยฤาษีวาสุเทพ ผู้เกณฑ์ชาวมอญมาสร้างเมืองระหว่างแม่น้ำกวงและแม่น้ำปิง จากนั้นเชิญพระนางจามเทวีมาเป็นปฐมกษัตริย์ ต่อมาเมืองตกอยู่ภายใต้อาณาจักรล้านนา และภายหลังเข้าสู่ราชอาณาจักรไทยในสมัยพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราช จนเปลี่ยนเป็นจังหวัดในปัจจุบัน
Lamphun was once called Haripoonchai, an ancient city about 1,343 years old, founded by the hermit Wasuthep between the Kuang and Ping rivers. Queen Chammadevi became its first monarch. The city later joined the Lanna Kingdom, and eventually the Kingdom of Thailand under King Taksin, before becoming a modern province governed by a governor.
